| The plate presence sensor has two functions: The PPS allows the user to rapidly and conveniently take an inventory of the incubator or plate hotel and identify where plates are within the cassette format. This allows a quick and easy way to determine the available capacity of the unit to prevent any over-rides. The plate presence sensor can also be used in conjunction with the barcode reader by identifying where the plates are within the units. This allows the barcode reader to create a much faster inventory by reading only those positions within the unit were plates are present saving valuable time. |
